  • I've never had any voice lessons, is this right for me?
A resounding YES! That's why you're here. Let's learn about your wonderful instrument together in a fun and inquisitive way.
  • I've done some lessons and sang in choir when I was younger, but want a deeper approach to voice - can you help with that?
Absolutely! Even the most seasoned artists STILL work with vocal coaches. Sometimes we develop bad habits along the way and simply need a refresher. Other times we just want to get back into the practice of having a healthy vocal routine. It's about learning and balance, and I can help!
  • Will there be any performance opportunities?
You bet! At the end of every semester, all students of our voice studio will have the opportunity to participate in a studio class. It is a welcoming performance environment where we invite family and friends to join to see the amazing progress you've made!
  • I'm thinking of pursuing music in university - will you help get me ready for auditions?
Yes, yes, and yes. As a certified RCM voice teacher, I will be able to equip you with all the training and information you need to pursue voice at the post-secondary level. Everything from audition prep, to theory, sight-singing and solfege, to performance techniques, and more.
  • Attendance & Withdrawal Policies
Attendance • If a student is aware of an upcoming absence – e.g. vacation – the student should inform Cat Thomson Voice Studio at the time of registration and, with permission, the number of lessons can only be adjusted at the time of registration. • Once a student has committed to the semester of lessons, Cat reserves a specific time for the student. Students are expected to attend each lesson they have reserved. Make-up lessons are not guaranteed, and lessons missed by the student will only be made up under special circumstances at the discretion of Cat. Giving maximum possible notice of an impending absence may increase the chances of a make-up lesson. Withdrawal/Refund •If a student needs to withdraw for any reason, they must provide a 2-week written notice. Any future lessons which have not taken place will be refunded.
